So, this is the Paladin Isle... home to - of all things - the Trinsic Paladins of Honour. Upholders of all things good in this land, preachers and teachers of the virtues, defenders of the weak and generally nice folks. Allow me to introduce Jacob Storm, once head of the Paladin Order, Knight of the Codex, Member of the Council of Knightly Conduct and Follower of the Virtue of Humility, Guardian of the Virtues.
My Ladies and Gentlemen, Lords and Ladies... Please, disregard my introduction. Whilst I was a member of the Order, and a member of the Knights of the Codex of Virtue, I was graced with the titles and graces of the First Knight - though, I was born a babe to a mother as any other person standing here, and I shall die as any being on these lands - by sword or by age.
How can I define a Paladin? A man - or woman - who follows the Virtue. Does a paladin have to have a sword in hand and book of virtue under their arm? I believe not... brimstone and hellfire should be left for fanatics - not for the education of citizens. I would turn my Paladins and Knights against an army of Fanatics - fanatic in their belief of Blackthorns anti-virtues, and equally fanatics of the British Virtues.
All that I ask from my Paladins is that they defend the defenceless, provide education to those who seek it and act as counsel to the inconsolable.
I shall sum up with the first page from of the book of Virtue - "Within this world live people with many different ideals, and this is good"
